      I believe youve gotten 2 disparate POVs. The USNA STEM program is technically an outreach program targeted to high-achieving and STEM-focused students who don't have a large amount of STEM resources and opportunities available due to where they live geographically and go to school. I'm a rising Junior and I applied to the the STEM program last minute in March and got accepted 2 weeks later. But the weeklong camps are only part of the Academy's drive to increase awareness of its STEM programs. Not impressed.

Other than eating in Bancroft, attending classes in Academy facilities, and being looked after by mids, there is no reason this program couldn't be any any facility in the U.S. She's glad she persevered because it helped cement her desire to attend USNA. The main difference is that summer STEM is a tech camp for "building cool things" that has nothing to do with whether or not you're interested in attending the academy while NASS is designed to give students who might be interested in becoming a future Naval officer a small taste of what it would be like to attend the academy.       My DHs niece went through the program 7 or 8 years ago. Give students ages 13-15 a taste of robust leadership training. The confirmation email says they will let us know by 4/15 but reading here that some applicants got the response with in 2 weeks of applying, i started worrying.
